Approach and Product Design

The client initially presented a rough prototype of a bluetooth device made to remotely fire off fireworks. From the start, it was important the product design improve to reflect a modern yet simple product. Through a series of iterations centered around a cleaner design, we came to a better prototype with the help of a 3D renderer.

THE BRAND

To start the brand design process, various packaging concepts were presented, spanning different brand personalities and approaches. Ultimately, the decision to use a flower firework mortar as the main logotype was best as it became a versatile method of displaying different colors, loading animations, and overall a unique identity. This flower is found throughout the brand in various forms of digital format.

THE APP

When designing the app, it became important to keep the interface fun to use, and also approach the design from a functional point of view centered around using the app as a controller for firing fireworks.. For the home screen, I chose to use four large buttons creating a controller-like interface. The four main functions of the app are broken down below.
